Supporting Participatory and Inclusive Governance in Mountainous Guria and Adjara - Roundtable Discussion
On March 6, 2019, as part of the project Supporting Participatory and Inclusive Governance in Mountainous Guria and Adjara, Rondeli Foundation held a working meeting with the representatives of Government of Georgia and Parliament as well as with the representatives of local authorities and education sphere from Khulo, Nasakirali and village Zoti. The objective was to discuss regional challenges and search for solutions for a number of ardent topics.
The issues were addressed by the Chairman of the Municipal Assembly of Khulo Jumber Dimitradze, the Chairman of Gender Equality Council of the Khulo Assembly Nargiz Dekanadze, member of the Ozurgeti Assembly, the Majoritarian of Nasakirali Beso Katamadze and principals of Zoti and Nasakirali. The Head of Regional issues in the Government Administration Sozar Subari, the Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Lika Gigauri, Majoritarian MPs of Chokhatauri and Lanchkhuti as well as of Khulo, Shuakhevi and Keda and the representatives of West Georgia division of the Ombudsman’s Office expressed their vision and actively engaged in the discussions. The head of department of Regional Development and the Mountains of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure Giorgi Dididze gave a presentation on the ongoing projects in the regions. The meeting was moderated by a research fellow of Rondeli Foundation and a project director Mr. Zurab Batiashvili.
The project Supporting Participatory and Inclusive Governance in Mountainous Guria and Adjara is implemented by Rondeli Foundation with the support of the UK Embassy in Tbilisi since November 2018. The project aims to support the civil integration and regional development in Georgia as well as to increase the participation of local population in the decision-making process.
