Public Lecture – “United States' Military Presence in Iraq and Afghanistan”

2007 / 12 / 19

On December 19, 2007 the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies hosted Colonel James R. Howcroft of the George C. Marshall European Centre for Security Studies in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany). Howcroft, the United States Marine Corps Chair at the Centre's College of International and Security Studies, was joined by his colleagues Lieutenant Colonel Tod Brown, Lieutenant Colonel Chris Cavoli, and Captain Shawn Kyle who delivered the lectures on the United States' military presence in Iraq and Afghanistan and then opened the floor to questions from the audience.

The public lecture was organised by the GFSIS in the framework of its current training programme in international relations and national security funded by the US Embassy in Tbilisi.

The Foundation is pleased to engage in an institutional partnership and collaboration with the George C. Marshall Centre as a leading transatlantic security and defence educational institution dedicated to the creation of a more stable security environment.
