Lecture on Turkish Foreign Policy and Its Implications for Georgia

On July 18, 2005 the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies hosted guest speakers, Dr. Fiona Hill and Dr. Omer Tespinar from the Brooking Institution’s working group on Turkey, and Mr. Derya Sevinc of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB). The speakers delivered lecture on Turkish foreign policy and its implications for Georgia. They discussed with the audience the Turkish –U.S. relations, Turkish –EU and Turkish-Russian relations, the growing anti-U.S. and anti-EU sentiment in Turkey and its future ties with Russia. The speakers also touched the topics of Kurdish state and conflicts in the Caucasus region. 

After the lecture, the guest speakers answered the questions from the audience.
