2012 / 01 / 31

On January 28-31, 2011 training in Project Management was conducted for the local community leaders, civil society, media, and government representatives of the region at the regional Public Policy Unit (PPU) of GFSIS in Akhalkalaki, Samtskhe-Javakheti.  Ms. Nino Kakauridze, consultant on business processes at the Danish Refugee Council, conducted the training.

During the training the lecturer introduced the Project Life Circle to the participants, spoke about how to create a project plan, and outlined key functions, characteristics and skills of a project manager and a project team. The training was engaging and interesting.  The trainees actively participated in different simulation exercises and in-class discussions.

The training was held under the project National Integration and Tolerance in Georgia.  The aim of the project is to forge a common understanding and vision of the Georgian state among the citizens of Georgia despite their ethnic origin and to promote a national integration process in line with the principles of modern, democratic state.  The project is divided into three components and is implemented at the GFSIS PPU in Akhalkalaki.  The training was part of the project’s first component, which comprises the skills based capacity building activities.
