Public Lecture by Ambassador David J. Smith

On 18 July, 2013 Ambassador David J. Smith (Director, Georgian Security Analysis Center, GFSIS) delivered a public lecture, “Azerbaijan and Georgia: The Enduring Strategic Importance of the East-West Corridor” at GFSIS. Ambassador Smith presented his views on current energy policy and underlined region’s geographical importance. Special attention was given to the importance of energy projects and development of East-West and North-West corridors. He also spoke about the possible scenario for the future of the region. GFSIS Senior Fellow Mr. Nodar Kharshiladze contributed to the discussion. The lecture was followed by a lively discussion. The audience included representatives of the diplomatic corps, experts, GFSIS alumni and interns.
