CBGL Alumni Retreat to Chateau Mukhrani

On May 30, 2015 the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS) organized an alumni retreat to Chateau Mukhrani within the framework of Capacity Building of the Georgian Leadership project (CBGL). The retreat aimed at creating networking opportunity for the alumni of different cohorts of  CBGL   program.   

The representatives of different government agencies, 70 alumni overall, attended the event. The key topic on the agenda was Georgia after the Riga Summit: Expectations vs. Reality presented by Tornike Sharashenidze, Full Professor at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs. The presentation was followed by an engaging  discussion exposing diverse viewpoints of the training alumni. Previously, GFSIS conducted seminars on the issues of foreign policy and security for five groups of CBGL Alumni, representing all seven cohorts of the program. Totally 73 representatives of the governmental agencies, NGOs and private sector took part in the series of seminars.  The cohorts went through five different topics on the 21st century security challenges, foreign policy challenges for Georgia, North Atlantic Alliance, EU-Georgian relations and terrorism. 

At the end of the formal part of the event, the alumni who attended lecture series on foreign policy and security were awarded the certificates of completion.
