Program Opening for Policy Trainings for Young Political Activists Program

On September 22,  2015 the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and Internatiuonal Studies (GFSIS) held a welcoming reception of Political Party Staff Training program. 

The key note speakers at the welcoming reception included Dr. Eka Metreveli (acting CEO, GFSIS), Ms. Pikria Chikhradze (Acting Chair, The New Rights Party) and Ms. Khatuna Machavariani (Chair, Women’s Party for Democratic Georgia). Political party leaders, members of Tbilisi Sakrebulo, current fellows and GFSIS alumni attended the reception. 

Within a six-month-long intensive program,  the representatives of 16 political parties, totally 35 political party staffers will go through trainings in Political Sociology and Ideologies, Economics, International Relations, National Security and Ethnic Policies. The program is supported by National Endowment for Democracy (NED).  

GFSIS has been supporting the strenghtening of Georgian political institutions since 2008 with the financial assistance of British Embassy and  in further partnership with the International Republican Institute (IRI) through the financial support of USAID. In 2013, Policy Trainings for Young Political Activists was funded by a private sector company JTI (Japan Tobacco International). Totally over 200 participants have graduated Political Party School at GFSIS throughout these years.
