Public Lecture by Professor Brenda Shaffer

On April 25, 2017 the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (Rondeli Foundation) hosted a public lecture “Global Energy Trends: Implications for the Caspian Region” conducted by Prof. Brenda Shaffer, a professor at Georgetown University and a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center; Prof Shaffer is also  the member of the board of Rondeli Foundation.

Dr. Ekaterine Metreveli, the President of the Rondeli Foundation introduced the Professor to the audience.

Prof. Brenda Shaffer discussed the global energy trends and energy security challenges. She talked about the potential barriers to the energy trade, natural gas markets, implications for the South Caucasus, the Greater Caspian region and other related issues.

The event was attended by the representatives of governmental, non-governmental organizations, diplomatic missions and the alumni of various training programs implemented by the Rondeli Foundation. The lecture was followed by an engaging discussion.
