Discussion on the participation of ethnic minorities in political processes

On September 29, Rondelli Foundation and the OSCE High Commissioner for National Minorities (HCNM) organized a round-table discussion on the topic - "Ethnic Minorities in Political Processes - Parliamentary elections 2020.

Representatives of the OSCE HCNM, civil society and media from Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti, as well as representatives of the State Ministry for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, attended the meeting. 

The round table was held as a part of the project “National Minorities in Political Processes – Engagement for Better Future” which aims to increase the involvement of national minorities in the socio-political processes of Georgia. The project also attempts to expand the representation of national minorities in political parties and promote integration through the development of principles of democratic governance.

In the regions of Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti, the project includes lectures and hands on seminars for youth and wider community. In Tbilisi, the project also aims to expand knowledge of ethnic politics, civil equality, as well as to hold a series of round tables on the issue of enhancing the political participation of ethnic minorities.
