2020 / 12 / 21

On December 18, Rondeli Foundation hosted an online roundtable on gender mainstreaming in Georgia with local stakeholders in Adigeni municipality. Anna Lobzhanidze, the chief specialist of the gender department at the Office of the Public Defender of Georgia held a seminar on the topic and led the participants into discussion on women participation on national and municipal levels.

The attendees included the leaders of local Orthodox Christian and Muslim communities as well as Adigeni city hall and municipal council representatives: public servants working on various focuses such as gender, tourism, culture, public relations, etc. The pariticipants expressed their desire for deeper cooperation with both Rondeli Foundation and the Office of the Public Defender of Georgia.

The roundtables aim to hold discussions between the representatives of local and central governments on issues of regional and national importance. These activities are expected to result in more efficient cooperation between regional and central governments. The round tables will encompass seminars on topics such as women’s issues, NATO and the EU, Georgia-Turkey relations, national security issues, etc. The project also promotes skill development in areas of policy analysis, advocacy, and negotiations.

The project is implemented by Rondeli Foundation and is supported by the U.S. Government.
