discussion: Two Years after the Karabakh War: Searching for Peace.

On December 20th, the Rondeli Foundation hosted a discussion - Two Years after the Karabakh War: Searching for Peace - with the participation of distinguished scholars and experts from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia. 

Dr. Farid Shafiyev, Ambassador, Chairman of the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR) (Baku, Azerbaijan), and Alexander Iskanderyan, Director, Caucasus Institute (Yerevan, Armenia) took part in the panel discussion - Peace Agreement: is there a Chance for a Breakthrough? - moderated by the President of the Rondeli Foundation Ekaterine Metreveli. The speakers shared expert views on topics such as the current status of peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the prospects of the peace deal, the geopolitical situation in the South Caucasus, and many more.

The participants of the second panel - Regional Cooperation in the South Caucasus: New Opportunities - Dr. Stepan Grigoryan, Chairman of the Board, Analytical Centre on Globalization and Regional Cooperation (ACGRC) (Yerevan, Armenia),  Rusif Huseynov, Director, Topchubashov Center (Baku, Azerbaijan) and Prof. Dr. Giray Sadik, Professor & Chair, Department of International Relations Faculty of Political Science, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University (Ankara, Turkey) together with the moderator, 

Alex Petriashvili, the Rondeli Foundation Senior Fellow, addressed a prospective peace deal between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the potential normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia and its influence on the strengthening of the regional cooperation in the South Caucasus. The speakers also discussed the prospects of establishing a "single platform" for regional and economic dialogue involving Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia; and the implications of Russia's military invasion of Ukraine in terms of enhancing regional economic cooperation, including energy production and transit, across the South Caucasus. 

We are grateful to our distinguished speakers who joined us from Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey, as well as the guests - representatives of the Diplomatic Corps, academia, and Georgian expert community for the engaging dialogue and thought-provoking questions.
