Round-Table Discussion on the Post-August 2008 Reality in Georgia and Its Neighborhood

On 2 November, 2010 the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies hosted a round-table discussion between the representatives of British and Georgian think tanks and expert community.  The meeting participants from the United Kingdom included Andrew Brinkley (Policy Exchange), Jana Kobzova (European Council of Foreign Relations) and Thomas Valasek (Centre for European Reform).  The Georgian side was represented by Alexander Rondeli (GFSIS), Archil Gegeshidze (GFSIS), Vasil Chkhoidze (Staff Office of the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Parliament of Georgia), Andro Barnovi (Institute for Strategy and Development) and Levan Tsutskiridze (Netherlands’ Institute for Multiparty Democracy).  The Round Table participants focused on the post-August 2008 reality in Georgia and its neighborhood.  More specifically, the Georgian and British experts discussed issues related to foreign and domestic politics of Georgia, national security threats and future opportunities.
