Meeting and Lecture of Professor Vivian Walker

On September 12, 2016 the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies hosted a meeting between the Professor on the National Security Strategy, National War College (Washington, U.S.) Vivian Walker, Ekaterine Metreveli, the President of the Foundation and the Senior Fellows of GFSIS: Giorgi Badridze, Nodar Kharshiladze, Shota Utiashvili, Kakha Gogolashvili and Giorgi Targamadze.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Georgia’s response to Russia’s targeted disinformation campaign as well as Georgia’s undertaken efforts to develop and disseminate a credible counter-narrative, focusing on government, NGO, think tank and academic initiatives.

Later, Professor Walker delivered a lecture to the participants of the training program in “National Security and Public Policy” on "Short Term Advocacy in a Complex Information Environment: The Case of Benghazi."

The lecture was followed by an ardent discussion.
