GFSIS and JTI Caucasus Signed a Memorandum of Understanding

On February 13, 2013 The Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies hosted a ceremony of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between GFSIS and JTI Caucasus.  The MoU was signed by Dr. Rondeli, President of GFSIS and JTI CAUCASUS LLC, General manager Paul Holloway. 

GFSIS, with the financial support of JTI Caucasus, will implement a project aimed at strengthening efficiency of public sector and media and enhancing healthy public debates on issues of Economics, Finance and Free Trade.  

The project targets mid level government officials involved in economic, financial and trade policy elaboration and media representatives.

In addition to the core courses on economics, finances and trade regimes offered by GFSIS experts, Hot Coffee Hot Issue discussions on acute contemporary policy issues with the participation of high level officials and experts in the respective fields are planned.

It is remarkable, that above mentioned cooperation was the initiative of GFSIS Advanced Security Studies program alumnus, Mr. Niko Mchedlishvili. The MoU was praised as a historic event by the president of GFSIS, Dr. Rondeli. According to him, “this is the first time when the financial support of the private sector is targeted at strengthening the capacity of public and civil sector.”
