Presentation of the Human Resources Management Manuals

On November 9, 2007 the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies presented two new publications in the framework of the “Public Policy Knowledge Network” program. The “Public Policy Knowledge Network” is managed by the Foundation and now is in its fifth and final year.The program is administered by the Canadian Bureau for International Education and funded by the Canadian International Development Agency.
The presentations of the publications was opened by Thea Kentchadze, "Public Policy Knowledge Newtork" project co-ordinator, and was attended by Human Resources managers from 14 State Ministries and the Parliament who participated in the program throughout the year.
David Elder, a visiting Canadian consultant with vast hands-on experience in the Canadian public service, and Shannon Fougere, Project Manager of the Canadian Bureau for International Education also addressed the audience. Mr.Elder stressed the importance of developing a modern human resources management methodology and expressed his hopes that the manuals will help Georgian Human Resources managers to contribute in this direction.

The books: Manual on Job Analysis and Job Description Writing, by Larry McElroy, and Objective Based Performance Management and Appraisal, by Don J. Smith, are written in Georgian and follow the curriculum developed and taught to Public Policy Knowledge Network  participants within the training program.
