This is a special issue of the Rondeli Russian Military Digest dedicated to the Russo-Ukrainian War, composed on the basis of numerous open sources.

During the reported period, Ukrainians attacked in the areas of Kyiv and Mykolaiv, while Russians continued their offensive against Ukrainians forces in Donbas region.

Kyiv-Chernihiv Area

Fierce fighting continued in the Irpen-Bucha-Gostomel area and other places northwest of Kyiv, as well as west of the capital on the Kyiv-Zhytomyr highway. No major gains were made by either side. Ukrainians continued to threaten communications of the Russian forces operating in this area.

Ukrainians successfully attacked east of Kyiv, pushing Russians some distance away from the city of Brovary that previously had been threatened by Russian advance.

West of Chernihiv, Russians attacked the surrounded Ukrainian-held town of Slavutych. Fighting near the town continued at the time of writing.

Donbas Area

Street fighting took place in Rubizhne and Popasna with these towns divided between the opposing sides. Russians apparently managed to enter the town of Verkhnetoretske although they likely were not able to gain full control over it. Fierce fighting continued in the areas of Avdiivka and Mar’inka.

Street battles continued within Izyum. Russians were not able to take over this town, but made a breakthrough in the area southwest and south of Izyum, although they soon had to stop their advance after being engaged by Ukrainian forces.

Siege of Mariupol

Russian forces attacking the city from the west managed to advance into the center of Mariupol. There is an apparent Russian attempt to cut the area held by defenders into at least two isolated parts. This, however, was not achieved by Russians as of 25 March.

Russians renewed their previously paused attempts to advance on Zaporizhzhia. They were not able to gain much territory during the reported period with both sides exchanging attacks and counterattacks in the area southeast of Zaporizhzhia.

Russians made no attempts to advance on Kryvyi Rih during the reported period.

Black Sea Area

Ukrainians continued their attacks in the area of Mykolaiv, and were able to take back from Russians additional territory east of this city.
