Capacity Building in Strategic Decision-Making: Lessons from the Asian Pacific Development Experience

The Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS) in partnership with the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (Japan)  implemented the series of capacity building activities under the framework of the project “Strategic Decision-Making: Lessons from the Development Experience of South East Asia.”  The goal of the program was to familiarize participants with the Southeast Asian economic miracle and discuss possible regional development strategies for the South Caucasus. Totally four training courses with participation of representatives of public service, civil society, media and business from Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan were organized throughout the project lifetime.  In addition to local, Georgian experts, the lecturers at the trainings included professors from China, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, and South Korea. The program has over 60 alumni throughout the South Caucasus.
