The Georgian-South Ossetian Conflict: Researching Peace

The project intended to promote a dialogue between the members of the Georgian and South Ossetian societies with regard to the conflict through elaborating carefully researched policy recommendations.

The project’s purpose was to directly influenced the policy planning and the decision-making process across the conflict divided aiming at transforming the post-conflict reality and creating necessary conditions for rebuilding trust. The project targets were all groups and stakeholders involved in the conflict from both sides, including the decision-makers in Tbilisi and Tskhinvali, displaced persons that fled South Ossetia, and international actors interested in the peaceful resolution of the conflict.  The project will run for 11 months and a number of roundtables and a presentation of the research findings organized throughout its lifetime. At the end of the project, the research findings published in the Georgian, Russian and English languages.

The Georgian-South Ossetian Conflict: Researching Peace project was funded by the European Commission (EC) and administered by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) through the Confidence Building Early Response Mechanism (COBERM).
