Rondeli Russian Military Digest

This is a special issue of the Rondeli Russian Military Digest dedicated to the Russo-Ukrainian War, composed on the basis of numerous open sources.

Donbas Area

Russians continued attempts to advance on all parts of the frontline in Donbas region as well around Izyum. They managed an advance by about 5-6 kilometers between villages Brazhkivka and Dibrovne south of Izyum, and a southward advance of several kilometers in the area to the east of Izyum, on the eastern bank of the Oskil River.

Heavy street fighting continued within Rubizhne and Popasna.

Siege of Mariupol

Russian heavy bombing of the Azovstal plant territory apparently failed to deal significant enough damage to the subterranean infrastructure there which the Ukainian defenders had transformed into their citadel. Moscow then decided not to assault Azovstal to avoid new high casualties among troops very much needed for the ongoing Battle of Donbas, but to lay siege to it in the hope of starving out the defenders.

Kharkiv Area

Ukrainians consolidated their recent gains east of Chuhuiv, while beating back Russian counterattacks south of this town.

Zaporizhzhia Area

Russians continued their attempts to advance northward, without notable results.

Black Sea Area

Fighting continued in this area without notable new territorial changes. Russians continued attempts to take back Oleksandrivka on the Black Sea shore without success.
