Rondeli Russian Military Digest

The Battle of Ukraine, Special Issue 64, from 31 August, 10:00 to 2 September, 14:00 Kyiv Time

This is a special issue of the Rondeli Russian Military Digest dedicated to the Russo-Ukrainian War, composed on the basis of numerous open sources.

 

Black Sea Area

Very heavy fighting was taking place in the area of the Ukrainian breakthrough across the Inhulets River. Information regarding Ukrainian control over Sukhyi Stavok was confirmed. Ukrainians also took Kostromka and tried to attack in the eastern direction from there. At the same time, Russians tried to counterattack the breakthrough area from the southwest.

Another area of very intense fighting was Arkhangelske-Olhyne-Visokopillya. The sides were attacking and counterattacking one another there with territorial control unclear at the time of writing.

At the northeastern end of the frontline, Ukrainians advanced to Kreshchenivka west of Zolota Balka.

On the frontline section northwest of Kherson city, fighting during the reported period went on with unclear outcome but unlikely major changes.

 

Donbas Area – North and Izyum Area

Fighting without major changes occurred near Brazhkivka and near Dolyna.

 

Donbas Area – Northeast

Russian attempts to advance were repelled by Ukrainians at many sections of the frontline.

Street fighting went on within the town of Soledar and the village of Yakovlivka.

Heavy fighting occurred within village Kodema with Russians continuing their efforts to take it by assault.

 

Donbas Area – Southeast

Russian unsuccessful attempts to advance occurred on the frontline section of Avdiivka, its flanks, in the areas of Pisky and Mar’inka, and on the front south of Novomykhailivka.

Ukrainians conducted a counterattack in Novoselivka south of Niu-York, possibly taking part of the village.

 

Donbas Area – South and Zaporizhzhia Area

Ukrainians advanced south of Orikhiv, reaching the area of villages Kopani, Novoprokopivka and Robotyne.

Inconclusive fighting occurred near Pavlivka and Yehorivka.

Kharkiv Area

Russians unsuccessfully attempted to advance towards village Prudyanka.
