Participation in the Central Eurasia Leadership Academy 6

On July 15-25, 2007 Théa Kentchadze Research Fellow at the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies attended the Central Eurasia Leadership Academy (CELA) 6, which took place in Istanbul, Turkey. She was among the 45 participants of the program.

The program, now in its sixth year, is designed to enhance leadership skills in the Caucasus and Central Asia and form a broader international network of leaders working towards peace, prosperity and improved regional co-operation through an open exchange of ideas and an appreciation for cultural diversity.

CELA 6 was held at Istanbul's Koç University. The curriculum of the program was organized around structured teaching modules that introduce particular themes, concepts and skills that are crucial to effective leadership. Lectures included "Cultural Aspects of Leadership" and "Leadership Dilemmas" together with various team building and networking exercises and break-out working sessions.

The 45 participants in CELA-6 included representatives from Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in addition to visiting European and American lecturers and facilitators.
