Graduation Ceremony of the Training Program in Global Politics and Economy

On December 8, 2015 the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies hosted a graduation ceremony for the Training Program in Global Politics and Economy. 

The keynote speakers at the graduation ceremony included Dr. Eka Metreveli, acting CEO, GFSIS, Prof. Merab Kakulia, Senior Fellow, GFSIS and Ivane Khasia, Manager of Corporate Affairs, JTI Caucasus. 

Totally 14 public servants were awarded certificates of completion by the representative of JTI Caucasus.

Within the framework of the four-month-long training course, the participants enhanced their theoretical and practical knowledge on the topics of Euro-Atlantic integration, foreign policy, finances, mass media and communication, public policy, economy and ethnic politics. Seminars were delivered by GFSIS in-house and invited speakers.  

The recently accomplished Training Program in Global Politics and Economy is the fourth program implemented by GFSIS with financial support of JTI Caucasus. Project was targeted at mid-level government officials. The goal of the training course was to strengthen efficiency of the public sector and enhance public debates.

The partnership with JTI Caucasus was established in 2013. Since then, four training courses in global politics, global security, economy, finance and EU integration have been delivered. In total 64 participants, four cohorts, have successfully passed the JTI-sponsored training programs implemented by GFSIS.  The partnership between GFSIS and JTI Caucasus supports the development of institutional cooperation between public and private sectors in Georgia.
