Estonian Experts visit GFSIS in the Scope of the Development Cooperation Project in Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli

On October 23-26, 2013 GFSIS hosted an Estonian delegation, under the framework of the project Helping to Integrate the Armenian and Azeri Minorities into Georgian Society. 

Implemented in cooperation with Jaan Tonisson Institute (Estonia), funded by Estonian Development Cooperation, the project aims to increase civic activity of the Armenian and Azeri communities in Georgia, enhance their participation in policy and decision making process.

The delegation consisted of different experts:  Anneli Kimmel - head of the Local Initiatives Bureau at the Rural Development Department of the Estonian Ministry of Agriculture, Külli Volmer – head of Estonian Village Movement Kodukant, Kalle Hamburg - director of the board of Estonian Farmers Union, Andrus Villem - director of the JTI and Kaur Sarv - project manager of Development Cooperation Center of JTI.  

In Samtskhe-Javaketi and Kvemo Kartli, the members of the delegation organized several group discussions/ brain storming sessions for local civil society representatives, focusing on different project ideas. The group discussions in Javakheti were held at the regional office of GFSIS in Akhalkalaki.
