COMPLETED PROJECTS

Study on the attitudes and perceptions of citizens of Georgia and the Russian Federation

The project represented parallel research aimed at exploring thattitudes and perceptions of citizens of Georgia and the Russian Federation. The idea of a parallel research was to create synergy in evaluating general viewpoints of the population in both countries regarding each other. Through the firsthand updated data and fresh look at the sensitive issues, stakeholders from both countries shall enhance efficiency of ongoing policies.

The Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (Rondeli Foundation) in cooperation and with the support of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) South Caucasus Office has commissioned a CRRC empirical study on the knowledge, attitudes and perceptions of Georgian citizens towards Russia with a special focus on the North Caucasus.

The parallel study, consequently with the same goals, was carried out in Russia in order to reveal the attitudes and the perceptions of citizens of the Russian Federation towards Georgia.

Assessment of attitudes would allow an improved understanding of public perceptions in Georgia and Russia. In a broader sense, presentation of research results and following analysis to various target groups, shall contribute to more informed decisions among the decision-makers and opinion crafters.
