Graduation Ceremony of the “Public Policy Network Program”

2008 / 11 / 19

On November 19, 2008 the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies hosted a graduation ceremony of the “Public Policy Knowledge Network” training program.

The project is implemented by the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies and the Canadian Bureau for International Education and is supported by the Canadian International Development Agency. The Program aims at building capacity within the Government of Georgia and at schools of public administration in the South Caucasus in order to meet global standards and best practices in public administration and has been one of the key areas of work within the foundation’s training activities.

During the year-long training program, policy groups from four different ministries: Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Education and Science and Ministry of Foreign Affairs researched a major policy topic in consultation with their respective ministerial authorities and completed courses in public policy conducted by local, Canadian and other international experts.  Under the supervision of mentors within the foundation, the groups produced and presented the policy papers on relevant topics important to their ministries, upon completion of the program.

Diplomas were presented to the 23 graduates by Mrs. Kristina Wittfooth, Vice-Presient of the Canadian Bureau for International Education and Dr. Alexander Rondeli, the President of the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies.
